Benjamín Alaluf is a Chilean-American professor of English, Film, and Literature at the University of Chile. He has taught electives such as South Africa and Apartheid in Film, and Jamaican Film and Literature at the Institute of Communication and Image (ICEI) at the University of Chile. He has also taught English levels 1-4 throughout the University of Chile. Before teaching at the University of Chile, he taught 3 years at the University of Diego Portales in the School of Economics and Business. He hated it there. Benjamín Alaluf studied Latin American Literature in Eckerd College and received a CELTA (Certification in English Language Teaching to Adults) from the Cambridge English Teaching Qualification centre Chilean-British University. Currently, he teaches Caribbean Film and Literature at ICEI and English levels 2, 4, and 5 in schools such as ICEI, Theatre, Public Administration, and Social Sciences at the University of Chile. In his spare time, he enjoys reading Latin American and Caribbean literature, watching Netflix shows, and spending time with close friends. He resides in downtown Santiago.
